Sheesh Mahal, meaning "Palace of Mirrors," refers to several historic palaces in India known for their intricate mirror work and architectural beauty. These palaces are famous for their ornate decorations, featuring thousands of tiny mirrors that reflect light in mesmerizing ways. The most renowned Sheesh Mahal is located in  Amer Fort in Jaipur. These palaces symbolize opulence and grandeur, often associated with royal heritage and cultural richness.

  • Small Real mirrors (round, square, or custom-cut) are fixed onto fabric using aari,glue or chain stitches

  • The mirrors are usually paired with embroidery techniques like zardosi, cutdana, resham (thread), sequins, or beadwork for a more ornate look.

  • Today, you’ll also find Real cut mirror work — where mirrors are custom-shaped and faceted for a sharper, more modern shine.
